Tiramisu and Luxury

Kelly Stamps.

Does her name ring a bell? If not, it should.

I discovered Kelly Stamps in 2020 and fell in love with her instantly.

She wasn’t your typical YouTuber. She was quirky, funny and a soul that deserved freedom that was determined to get it.

The Cali born YouTuber candidly recorded her journey of searching for adventure while showing her bumps and bruises along the way. Kelly knew life had more to offer and unapologetically went after it.

As a proud Stamp-Ede who is enrolled in Stamp-ede University, it made me happy to see pure black girl joy. She wasn’t shy about acknowledging her current state but still driving forward towards what she wanted.

Transparency is relatively absent on these social media platforms. The intense attempts to hide your shortcoming is outshines by great accolades. While the people, including myself, desire relatability, it seems to not exist.

When your IG is plastered with traveling the world, it’s hard to clap when it seems to be your normal. This “new normal” is subconsciously shunning the girl with a 9–5 who feels drawn to love this life but doesn’t want to take a risk.

The collective force to “take life by its horns and live how you want” is great but it leaves out the most important ingredient: money.

Ms.Stamps was transparent about her humble beginningss and this is why I clap for her 5-figure monthly checks from YT.

In her journey, she made me feel “I too can live the life I want but it starts with being honest with yourself”. It starts with knowing you may fall a few times and it’s okay because the goal is obtainable.

What you desire is on the other side of comfort. I am grateful for the few people who are transparent in their journey and continue to lead by example.
